Music flows through the veins of Liam Kennedy-Clark. Originally from New Zealand, Liam now calls Australia home. Hailing from the serene Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Liam is a talented multi-instrumentalist as well as a gifted singer/songwriter.
There is no hiding Liam’s “Old Country Soul” within his youthful body. Growing up with influences like Vince Gill, Albert Lee, Joe Walsh, Glenn Frey and David Gilmore he was destined to follow one path on his musical journey. Throw modern idols like Brad Paisley and Keith Urban into the mix and you have the perfect recipe for a credible and authentic Country sound. Liam combines the best elements of a traditional country music sound with the contemporary country rock styling that have made the genre one of the most successful in North America.
Unlike many of his peers who specialize in a couple of instruments, Kennedy-Clark challenges himself to multi-skill as a musician. He is currently proficient with acoustic & electric guitar, upright & electric bass, piano & organ, drums, harmonica, trumpet, mandolin, banjo, pedal steel, dobro and piano accordion. This flexibility allows him to explore many horizons and contribute in numerous ways as an artist.
Not content with playing music though, Liam’s passion for production has channeled his attentions in this direction and he has now finished and released a self-produced album of original songs, and all by the tender age of 18.
Kennedy-Clark already has a swag of achievements in his music career. These include winning the Junior Aristocrat Entertainer of the Year in Tamworth in 2014, and the Coca Cola/Yamaha Battle of the Young Stars (senior section); as well as Queensland’s "Voice of Urban" 2014 Runner-up. He has also won many overall prizes around New Zealand including New Zealand Gold Guitar Intermediate Overall Winner in 2013 and has appeared on the national TV screens in New Zealand – ranking in the Top 24 of NZ X-Factor.
Liam is a passionate young artist and has his goals firmly set on continuing forward in the music industry – singing, playing, producing, and writing his own material. Along with regular gigs and performances across Australia and New Zealand over the past few years, Liam spends a lot of his spare time in his home studio, where he has been undertaking session work on a variety of instruments, as well as travelling around as a backing musician for other artists.
